4 – Cashel Man

Throughout Europe, the discovery of mummified bodies is common and due to the conditions of the sites where they are found, these bodies are often in a state of excellent conservation. This mummy, found in Ireland in 2014, is the oldest known to the scientific community to date, dating back to 4,000 years ago. This makes it older than King Tut and offers researchers a unique opportunity to study the life of Irish society from over 4000 years ago.
