9 Coldest Places in the World to Live - Barrow, Alaska

Barrow is a city located in the far north of the United States. It’s only 2,000 kilometres (1,250 miles) to the south of the North Pole and 500 km (300 miles) to the North of the Arctic Circle.

This city is populated with over 4,500 people, even when existing in a permanently frozen state, with extremely cold and windy winters. In here, the sun sets at the end of November and doesn’t come out again until the end of January. It’s also worth mentioning that its summer is freezing cold.

The city is only accessible via air or sea, so you can forget about taking a road trip through its icy streets.
